Installation of tranformer substation & cable laying
A modern transformer substation is a whole complex of complex electronic equipment, with which this or that installation is completed in accordance with a pre-approved project. When developing the project, the features of the operation of the future installation are taken into account, which largely depend on the climatic conditions prevailing in a particular area. So, for example, due to existing operational restrictions, the installation can be equipped with either an air conditioning system or a heating system for power transformers.
The installation of a transformer substation in accordance with current regulations is a task, the solution of which must necessarily be based on the characteristics of local soils. So, according to the results of geological exploration activities for the power electrical installation, a suitable type of foundation for the PTS is selected, which is laid into the project at the stage of its development.
The installation of a transformer substation is a procedure, the execution of which is entrusted exclusively to qualified personnel capable of performing installation work in all weather conditions. Regardless of the degree of remoteness of the future substation from the existing high-voltage power lines, the employees of the installation company must take all measures to ensure safety during electrical installation work. We are talking about measures that meet the requirements of the updated version of the EIC rules. The first condition that ensures compliance with the presented requirement is to create opportunities for electrical installation work when the high-voltage power line is turned off.
The assembly of the transformer substation and the installation of power transformers is completed by the installation of cable lines. The next step is the commissioning, which includes the following activities:
- checking cable lines;
- checking power transformers for operability;
- checking the integrity of bus bridges and energy metering devices.
The first start-up of the electrical installation is carried out with the permission of the electrical laboratory and involves checking the operability of the equipment at idle. If the test is successful, then voltage is applied to the transformer substation.
